Nato G
The reason I haven't made any characters for Kentoku is because I just find all of the culture and caste system and lore too complex from a gameplay perspective. It's too constraining for my style of play. I don't know if that really helps answer the original question, but that's just my personal opinion. I do have a question for everybody though: There hasn't been a great deal of interaction, and though I know a lot of people have reasons for staying out of it, I'm curious: What would get you to play (or more likely to play) more in the Kentoku location? The simple answer is I have more than enough characters as it is. I figure once the expedition is over and those Dasaka return home, I'll have plenty to do with Mako. Although bringing back Ankora isn't totally out of the question... The reason I haven't made any characters for Kentoku is because I just find all of the culture and caste system and lore too complex from a gameplay perspective. It's too constraining for my style of play. I don't know if that really helps answer the original question, but that's just my personal opinion. I'd like to point out that my main Dasaka character is probably one of the least constrained or inhibited of my characters. You don't like feeling limited? Use that, make a Datsue, they have a lot more personal freedom, or make a character who's against the caste system. This creates conflict, and conflict is interesting. Timageness
I also found it confusing that there was only one topic for the entire Archipelago, but one of my main reasons for not making characters on Kentoku was that I always felt limited in the character creation process. Maybe it would help if it had its own set of sentient species with different cultural backgrounds that the Empire knew of and that the folks on Mata Nui didn't as well; it would be interesting to see what kind of beings would mirror the Vortixx, Skakdi, and Lesterin over there, and it could generate more interest in creating new custom species or reviving older ones too. Nato G
Actually, timeageness has a point there, but here's my take on it: If random Toa, Vortixx, Matoran, Skakdi, Turaga, Lesterin, etc. wash up quite regularly on the shores of Mata Nui from distant lands, why have none (except the Piraka) ever wound up on Kentoku? I know we normally disregard the backstory/where characters came from stuff, but it doesn't make much sense if you stop and think about it. Franco
Because Kentoku wasn't a battleground between deities for over a century. When the Toa Mata failed, Mata Nui put more Toa on the island. In response, Makuta summoned Skakdi, Vortixx and anything else likely to bring chaos or evil. Each side couldn't stop attracting reinforcements while the other did so. Meanwhile, Kentoku hasn't had a war between gods recently--least of all, one including an unprecedented outcome that forced its Great Spirit's hand--so it lacks the draw of Mata Nui. 7 [Profiles] Wisdom. IcarusBen
As for why I don't play in Kentoku is that, as a race, the Dasaka bore me. They seem to be a combination of Amazons and various Asian cultures. Honestly, I've never cared much for Amazons and while I have nothing against Asia, I feel that they're overused in pop culture. Now, if the Dasaka were influenced by say, Romans or Vikings, then maybe I'd have a good reason to make a Dasaka. Keeper of Kraata
I just really don't like caste systems.
