IC: (Stop Spay-painting That Wall, That's Vandalism, That Is!/Obsidian)

The dislike this creature had for him was palpable, but Rekhyt cared little: the skakdi - or whatever he was - would hopefully be gone soon, leaving the Outsiders to their duty. If not, he better start acting more than five  years old and not be a Meany to the Big Boys.

IC: Agrona - Ko-Streets

Agrona let out a warm "Hm," before smiling, "Information is important, even when left unused," Agrona took another sip of hot chocolate, "I'd wager this village will surprise even us... speaking of which..." she looked up from her mug, "I think there's something you'll want to see Sylus. Toros and I are on our way towards a meeting between my people and the Brotherhood that helped tackle the village. We're to discuss territory."

Her smile broadened to show sharp incisors, "You may accompany me if you wish."

IC:

Sylus took a sip from his own drink, remaining silent as though contemplating Agrona's offer.

In truth, he wasn't.

The answer was obvious.

"I would be honoured," the Toa replied with a smile of his own.

IC: Agrona - Ko-Streets

Agrona turned around and began walking, keeping silent until reaching the guards at the Sanctum. Upon coming to the small crowd at the entrance, she pressed through. She gave the guards only a few words and gestured to Sylus and Toros, "They're with me."

She turned to look at her companions, "Sylus, it's best if you remain silent unless somebody speaks to you. And Toros, the same goes for you," the silenced Toa only looked at her, "Oh, of course."

Agrona turned around once more, and walked into the conference, humming quietly to herself.

IC

The dark man leaned against a wall in what used to be Ko-Koro's marketplace. A black cowl hid his face in shadow, and a cloak of the same shade, stained and travel-worn, wrapped around his body. A gentle puff of vapour was the only evidence against his being just another corpse frozen upright by the bitter winds, as was the hint of a smile that tugged at his unseen lips: in another place or another time, the city's guard would have kept a close eye on him, or at least silently wondered at his respectability. But here in the fallen city, no one gave him a second glance.

His eyes flickered to the Citadel, whose broken spire hung over the city like a splintered tombstone. Echelon's name was echoed throughout the Koro, sometimes whispered as a curse, sometimes spoken reverently, like the first syllables of a psalm. The Dark Toa's few public appearances had done little to dispel the myths that accompanied the mention of his name: he was a Toa of Shadow, like Heuani; he wore a Mask of Mind Control; he was the physical manifestation of the Makuta, not defeated as the Maru had thought, but merely reborn into a corporeal body. Each rumour was more far-fetched than the last, but the dark man knew that there must be at least a grain of truth to some of them. How else could Echelon amass such power, if he was nothing more than a servant of a fallen god?

He was sure the truth would be revealed in the days to come. Until then, he would wait patiently, and see for himself.

IC: "Hmmm... You may have a point there," Xhalia said, realising the truth of the situation. "Putting the village in any unnecessary danger probably wouldn't win me any favors, but I should still make the journey to let them know of my activities in the area anyway, even if I do have to find somewhere else to make camp and escort anyone I manage to capture across the Break. I wouldn't want to be arrested because someone mistook me for one of them; I've already spent enough time behind bars for one lifetime."

OOC: Are Brotherhood members allowed to attend the meeting as well?

IC: Enforcer Minnorak - Obsidian Outpost.

Oh great... She's planning to take her prisoners through here? "With all due respect, it'll take a good day or two to travel from there back to here. Perhaps longer, since you're going uphill, with a prisoner. That's discounting the weather, of course. If the thugs at Ko-Koro find your track and send someone after you, then there's no way you'll make it back here."

OOC: Entrance to the meeting is invite-only.

IC: Noxas

Noxas cowered in a random hut near the sanctum, praying to Mata-Nui that he wasn't spotted. He could potentially do a runner and make a run for the gates but he didn't. He simply poked his head towards the window and witnessed what was going on.

OOC: Open for interaction.

OOC: Sure, in the background.

IC: (Larikon Torchbearer, The Citadel)

It was certainly a strange request. But nonetheless, he would deliver as neutrally and punctually as he could. He was not a diplomat, such things he had usually left to Jorruk, upon the rare instances it came up. But he was not entirely inexperienced in such matters, having been a fairly good businessman before his enlightenment. But this was not haggling for an Ussal crab, not at all. He would show himself to be able and amiable.

"I received an invitation," he said bluntly. "Myself having been incapacitated due to circumstances beyond my own control, I have been unable to take it up until this very day. Nonetheless, now is as good a time as ever to come and discuss such matters as I have previously stated."

OOC: I'd assume he was invited. :P

I occasionally return to BZP for a nostalgic trip back. Hit me up on discord if you need anything.

IC: "With all due respect, the thugs of Ko-Koro would have to know that I was out there hunting them to begin with before they could even do anything, and I'm pretty capable of staying undetected," Xhalia commented. "By the time they realised that one of their own was missing, there would already be a considerable amount of distance between myself and the city. Catching up to me before I crossed over would not be easy, at least on foot anyway, and the extra time that it would take for me to get uphill would already be accounted for due to my headstart."

She took a moment to fold her arms over her chest before continuing to present her side of the debate.

"The beautiful thing about the weather is that if it was bad, it would also hinder anyone coming after me as well; it's not so easy to follow a trail when the tracks are constantly being filled in with snow."

OOC: Cool. I was thinking of sending Zenithex over to watch since he's isn't doing anything at the moment, and I'm not particularly fond of the Grandmaster being alone in a location that's entirely comprised of Makuta-worshippers.

IC (Kohra):

After poisoning a good part of Po-Koro's population, flooding the great mine, sabotaging the Ta-Koro cable-car and sending an avalanche down upon this very village, fixing a broadcasting device was a most welcome change of pace for the usually far more destructive Vortixx. It had been a long time since she had last used her talents to fix something. But while the system was working as intended, the Ko-Koro Matoran who had operated it had done a fine job making a mess of things and lots of smaller things needed to be repaired still.

Kohra was sitting cross-legged in front of one of the things, a backup generator, the removed panel of its casing on the ground beside her, a selection of tools in front of her and a whole lot of gears in her field of view. Most of them were in the right spot already, the result of a morning's worth of work. All that needed doing now was some finer adjusting to ensure everything would run smoothly. Tightening a screw here, loosening a bolt there and pausing in-between to test if the adjustments worked, until everything was back in order. With the back of her left hand, Kohra wiped a strand of hair away from her forehead and moved to place the screwdriver in her right back on the floor.

Then, her fingers lost their grip on the tool and it clattered to the floor. Kohra's eyes widened as she looked down at her hand. It was shaking, tremors making it difficult to turn her palm up. Watching her fingers, she tried closing them into a fist. They did, but only after several heartbeats had passed and only very slowly. Then a wave of pain washed over her, making her whince and close her eyes. When they opened again, the pain was gone - along with the tremors and delayed reactions. She rolled her wrist and flexed her fingers as if nothing had happened.

Perhaps it was time to consult Echelon...she thought, but then decided against it. The moment had passed and would now only serve as a sign of weakness if she shared it openly. Still, after several days worth of dealing with nothing but broken technology it was time to return to dealing with broken people again. And she might as well check in on the necromancer running the village while she did that.

IC (Agni):

The Toa of fire was standing outside, keeping watch and making use of one of the rare, windless nights. Without the chill of the howling air they had gotten to know very well over the past several days, he actually didn't feel cold at all - courtesy of the natural warmth his element brought with it. The lack of wind also had another side-effect: There were no grey clouds piled up against the flanks of Mt. Ihu, leaving a clear, starry night to be seen from below.

Having spent relatively little time in the village of ice overall, Agni had only ever heard of such nights by word of mouth, he had never had the chance to witness one for himself like this, much less the dancing lights that accompanied it. Curtains of light, gently moved by a cosmic breeze stretched out overhead.

I guess even Ko-Wahi can be appealing at times...minus the lunatic inquisition that's taken over the village.

A grim reminder. Enough to take the magic out of the moment. With one last look to the dancing lights, the Toa turned and walked back inside to get some rest.

OOC: Actually felt a bit out of touch with Agni since it's been so long, so no first person for him tonight.

I marched forward as the guard finished speaking, my claws digging into the hard-packed snow, pushing past the crimson brakas spawn and shouldering aside his mechanical pets. Pity, I would have loved to blast a hole through the wall there. Staying in close proximity to Hakann for any extended period of time made me feel... explosive. Then again, it may have just been the brown-armored rahkshi in the vicinity.

A few steps brought me within the Koro proper, my rahkshi fanning out as they emerged from the gate. Two took up positions trailing back behind our group while the rest folded up to hover in the air above, statues once again. The captured village of Ice wasn't all that much to look at, but I had been told that it was one of wonders of this island. Ha. A city of ice was just as easy to break as that city of crystal.

This village wasn't filled with a bunch of stuck up dasaka, so I suppose that was a plus. That, and almost overnight it had become the formost center of evil on the island, which was important to Zaktan. Whatever, let the natives kill themselves, I want no part in their war of ideals.

Top brass was here too, some toa named Echelon. We'd be seeing him soon, and I was actually looking forward to meeting him.

For personal reasons.

"Don't kill anyone," I muttered to Hakann, "Or you're explaining it to Zaktan."

"Hey, uh, whatever your name is (Dakahpa), do you ever get the feeling that... I dunno, uh... I've just had this, uh, growing suspicion that..."

That we aren't welcome here

"That we, as in the Brotherhood, might be overstaying our welcome. Echelon isn't exactly... I dunno what he is, but..."

Ira was having trouble putting his feelings to words. Turning to look at two Skakdi with an entourage of Rahkshi-

Wait.

What the .

Weren't the Rahkshi feral by now? How were those Rahkshi following those Skakdi around like loyal soldiers?

"... I must not have gotten the news," Ira muttered, staring at the Rahkshi.

IC Gresak:

Gresak sighed. The footprints he had been following had long since been covered up. Having no other leads, Gresak looked towards the Koro. Two Skakdi were walking that way. Activating his vision power, Gresak zoomed in on them. Shocked, Gresak lost focus and his vision abruptly returned to normal. These were the two famed, or rather infamed master criminals of Mata Nui. Gresak went over his options momentarily. Having no desire to stay here and freeze to death. he had to go in the Koro anyway. Plus, maybe he could do some work for these guys. Gresak betted they would pay well, and such masters of illegal acts might have something that they needed done that they had no time for. His decision made, Gresak began to walk towards the two he thought, based on descriptions he had heard, were Vezok and Hakaan.

IC:

I looked up from the notebook I was busying myself with writing in to notice Agni walking back into the little hideout. I nodded at him, before looking down at my notebook, frowning, then closing the dumb thing and putting it down by my knee. "Wonderful night for writing," I muttered quietly and sarcastically to myself, before standing up and walking out the same direction Agni had just come in. None of us were worried at all about needing to maintain a watch - or if any of them were, they hadn't made it noticeable to me - but I was feeling paranoid enough to go and keep watch if Agni was going to walk inside. I wasn't getting any sleep or any writing or anything else done, anyways. Nor did I have anything to drink to pass the time, either, although I've been trying to stop that anyways.

Once outside I stared up at the night sky, looking closely to see if I might notice any hint of an aurora coming as well, although I doubted I would. It was a calming sight, the night sky here in Ko-Wahi, on nights as clear as this. You could see everything possible to see in the heavens. Tonight, however, it wasn't a calming sight for me. I wasn't calm at all tonight. No, this sight merely reminded me of home.

I am Praggos, former guardsman of Ko-Koro. My home has been conquered by worshippers of Makuta, and there's not a single thing in Karzahni I can do about it, other than run in like a madman and throw my life away, although that really does not seem like a good idea. Now I've truly been set apart from my comrades - the only other one among them now who has no home is Utu, and unlike him, I did not lose mine by any choice of my own, and nowadays I don't want to be set apart from my companions the way I wanted to be before. I suppose life just has a habit of doing the exact opposite of what you'd want.

The Fe-Skakdi decided he didn't want to stand around and find out if the other Skakdi was in when he glanced over and saw two of the infamous Piraka standing alone. He'd seen them enter the village with the green armored one, a squad of Rahkshi at their backs. The power they possessed... they were true heroes to Zarkov's race.

The Iron Skakdi slowly approached Vezok and Hakann, he approached slowly to appear non threatening. "The name's Zarkov," he bowed his Skakdi-mug before the other two.

"I've heard of your deeds, there isn't a Skakdi alive on this island who doesn't know the Piraka. Most impressive, I admire your work and now it seems you have acquired Rahkshi body guards, amazing." the silver-armored Skakdi grinned, it was a feral smile.

As he walked, Gresak zoomed in on the two. There was now a Fe-Skakdi talking to them, and by the looks of things, was praising them. On a sudden thought, Gresak quickly sheathed his Patero, rifle, and dagger. Not a good idea to accidentally appear hostile to a prospective employer.

IC: "Then I'll just have to make sure that I survive long enough to come back and surprise you, now won't I?" Xhalia announced, maintaining her grin. "As for the luck, I sure could use some of it, I suppose. I would hate to learn that I've come all this way without getting anything to show for it."

Dravennica looked away from Khil'rayu for a moment, noticing that two Skakdi, one of Water and the other of Fire, had made their way inside the village surrounded by a group of Rahkshi. She immediately recognised them from the information she had gathered during her early days on the island.

Standing before her were Hakaan and Vezok, two of the six Piraka.

The Ko-Toa was at a loss for words. In the past few days, she had been fortunate to be in the presence of Echelon himself, and now two of the six most infamous beings on the island stood mere feet from her, clearly living up to their reputation. Could things possibly get even more interesting?

She decided to keep quiet as she watched the events unfold around her.

Zenithex slowly made his way towards the Sanctum, his robes hiding his grotesque appearance as he pondered the events taking place during the meeting between the Grandmaster and the Makuta-worshippers' heathen leader. He didn't know if any other members of the Brotherhood had accompanied him inside, but he himself absolutely loathed the idea of him entering a meeting place that was mostly made up of those who had aligned themselves with Legacy alone, especially if they were to suddenly dissolve the alliance between them.

As he reached the steps leading up to its doors, he spied a small gathering of people that the guards hadn't let in waiting outside. He prefered not to mingle with them if he had the choice, as none of them had yet accepted Ak'rei'an's light, but nor would he cause tension between them either.

In a few hours, I'd constructed two more Blazing Fangs.

With a little luck, I'd be able to sell these two at similar prices.

I smiled. Ko was indeed the best place to be.

I actually find myself at a loss for words. This Xhalia is either stupidly overconfident, or incredibly skilled. I almost want to go along with her just to find out which one of the two it is. IC Skakdi NPC (Ko-Koro)

There is a kohliiball flying the air above me-

-floating.

This kohliiball is destined to travel, then fall.

But at this moment, in front of my eyes, I see a kohliiball.

A po-matoran kohliiball.

I draw a diagram in my mind.

You throw a kohliiball in a spiral, like a worm crawling in a muaka's intestines.

A kohliiball thrown any other way just won't go very far.

It certainly wouldn't get to the place it was intended to be thrown to

That would be impossible.

But this kohliiball. THIS kohliiball.

It moves with unnatural accuracy.

Obscenely

Moist with the juices of effort.

Blasphemously

It is as though the place it was going is the place it always will go.

I think of my older sister

This po-matoran Kohliiball is impossible, it just can't exist.

I want to wipe it from my eyes.

I want to scream and writhe and shove my face into a prehistoric tarpit.

Ic: Krakant

Krakant stayed silent as the "Pakura" bonded Skakdi talked to Zarkov.

I'll have to watch out for those he thought to himself. The female Skakdi left, and Krakant was just about to say something when two Skakdi walked through the gates, sneer on faces, Rahkshi at hand, white and red.

Vezok & Hakaan.

Oh Karz. Krakant thought to himself. I don't want anything to do with those guys - I'm just a simple merc findin' my way about jobs that other people might find... Distasteful. I don't want to get involved in any activity that might put off potential deeders. And the fact that I don't know if that little snob of a Matoran has put an explosive in "blazing fang" that's set to blow me up.

It was then that Krakant saw Zarkov walk towards Vezon and Hakaan.

Oh Karz.

IC: "You never know," Xhalia said, shrugging and rubbing her hands together as she turned her attention towards the food. "Stranger things have happened."

Zenithex slowly moved up the stairs, his eyes moving from side to side as he surveyed the group around him with the coldness of a predator. Amongst them he could make out two Toa, one of Earth, the other of Magnetism, and a Skakdi of Iron who was host to a Parakuka, but none wore the faces of fellow worshippers of Ak'rei'an. It was just as well, though; he didn't come to the Sanctum to chat with a bunch of heathens, after all.

Making his way past them, he approached the guards standing by the door before stating his intentions.

"I have come... to stand at the side of the Grandmaster," the Ta-Lesterin said, his voice dripping with darkness.

IC: Dahkapa (Ko-koro)

"I thought that the meeting between Echelon and the Grandmaster was no secret, but a widely known fact", Dahkapa replied to Ira's warning. When the Ta-Toa explained his concerns, Dahkapa listened and nodded. He was about to say something, but then he also turned to look at the Piraka and their Rahkshi retinue. who walked through the streets. "Where are they going?" Dahkapa mumbled, "And more importantly, who are they?" He was surprised to see the Rahkshi obediently follow someone, but soon assumed that the Skakdi were servants of Makuta, who had found a way to control the feral Sons of Makuta. This concerned him greatly. "I want to know where they are going. I'll follow them from a distance", he said to Ira, "Unless your mask happens to be a Huna or a Volitak, by any chance?"

IC: The Deceiver (Ko-wahi) Alias: Akarth Crystal disguise: Yellow and turquoise armor, mask shaped like a Hau

A bounty had been placed by Eisen, a member of the Legacy. The Deceiver was not interested in any reward, but instead she simply wanted to serve the followers of Makuta. She had disguised herself, because she sought to achieve her task through deception and betrayal, which is also why she was not interested in working with others on this mission. Right now, Akarth was headed to the cable car in the east, trudging through the snow. Instead of going through the unforgiving Drifts, she had decided to travel through Ta-koro and the forests of southern Ga-Wahi, a much safer and easier route to Ga-koro, where this Suletu-bearer was last seen. There was, of course, a possibility that the Toa and his entourage had left the city, but Akarth was certain that they had left some tracks to be followed in that case. Finding the Toa was the easy part. Gaining his trust would be somewhat more difficult.. but not impossible. Not for the Deceiver.

IC: Enforcer Minnorak - Obsidian Outpost.

I give up on trying to talk any sense into Xhalia. If she gets lucky, she might manage to crawl back here with just enough life left in her to hear me say "I told you so," but I doubt the Makuta worshippers would leave anything left once they caught up with her.

"What exactly are you cooking?" I ask Forger. It smells good, but considering that until two minutes ago I didn't even know he could cook, I wasn't so sure if I could fully trust my senses.

-IC:-

I enter Ko-Koro behind the nonpareli churl Vezok (whose pitiful shoves I allow with disdain), gesturing to my Rahkshi, which fall into position in a protective semicircle behind. He claims tactical ingenuity, but moves and acts as if he were deliberately attempting to provoke my Rahkshi into skewering him. Or, perhaps more accurately, into attempting to skewer him, so that he may have reason to dismember them and leave me all the weaker. Perhaps his ingenuity is indeed existent, but viciously outré; with every grunt and negativistic action, I found my doubt increased.

But enough about my azure companion; it seems we have attracted a crowd. I expected (no, indeed deliberated) this occurrence, and have planned accordingly. My gaze cuts through the enervated and otiose, assessing equipment, conduct, evidenced weaknesses and strengths. The Skakdi approaching us wears what appears to be a rifle; assuming he can use it with any degree of adroitness, he remains a viable option. Others gather around but say nothing, wisely waiting to see what befalls this almost fatuously straightforward individual. Before Vezok can formulate a threat, I respond, cautiously striding past my companion as I do so.

May I ask as to why you present to us this interesting combination of praise and the self-evident, Zarkov?” My disquietingly equivocal half-smile remains, a hollow and impassive farce of emotion. “We're rather busy, as I'm sure you can see. Don't be afraid to persist in your inclination for directness.

Then, with all the entropic beauty of the unexpected, a sphere (I believe it belongs to some local sport, though as to the title I care not) lands at our feet. I do not tense or kick it away; if it is an explosive, or otherwise an assassin's tool, an attempt at defense would be of little use. My Rahkshi, however, are a blur of motion; Ice Resistance surges forward to plant itself between me and the projectile, as the others fan out to search for the thrower.

A Matoran of Water appears, requesting with curtness that we return the ball (Narcotised? Uncertain of intoxication; perhaps schizophrenic). Ice Resistance tenses, waiting for my command.

No need to be brusque, my friend,” I gesture to the Rahkshi, who retrieves the ball and hands it to me with incredibly rapid and precise movements. I hold it up with one hand, my eyes empty, unreadable. “Assuming that this is your property, I would be pleasured to return it to you, if only you apologise for your crudity.

A thin, grating hiss rises from the Rahkshi as they inspect their potential prey, as if the possibility of violence was itself an apotheosis of glory.
