Boidoh
So today in IT class, when I was supposed to be doing stupid spreadsheet stuff, I decided to finally learn the Matoran Alphabet, and while I was at it, have my friend who I have indoctrinated into BIONICLE learn it too. Turns out, it wasn't hard. In about an hours worth of writing various words with it, it has become like my second language now, or something. And my friend knows it probably just as well as I do. How well do you know it. bonesiii
Not well. No matter how many times I learn a letter, I forget it until the next time and then I have to compare the shapes to English letters and guesstimate based on words I know, all over again. Good news is it's usually easy to do that. 1 Quote The Destiny of Bionicle (chronological retelling of Bionicle original series, 9 PDFs of 10 chapters each on Google Drive): Part 1 - Warring with Fate | Part 2 - Year of Change | Part 3 - The Exploration Trap | Part 4 - Rise of the Warlords | Part 5 - A Busy Matoran | Part 6 - The Dark Time | Part 7 - Proving Grounds | Part 8 - A Rude Awakening | Part 9 - The Battle of Giants My Bionicle Fanfiction (Google Drive folder, eventually planned to have PDFs of all of it)

Click
I read and write it all the time. I'm pretty quick at writing, but a few letters slow me down when I'm reading. I'm still pretty proud of what I can do with it. Plus that font does help for MOCs and such. 1 Quote ~ Corpus Rahkshi: Fang | Hoto | Tube | Tear | Canvas | Garrotte | Reda BZPRPG: Azusai | Mitsuri The Scarabax Library | Flickr | Deviantart
The 1st Shadow
I committed it to memory years ago. For a long time, I had trouble remembering what "Q" looked like, but that has since been amended. It takes a while to write anything in it, though, so I just use either the round or hexagonal fonts available for download. AdaptingChaos
I haven't really ever tried to do this, in all the time I was a Bionicle fan (10 years now). I guess it won't hurt to learn it lolIll try this week or something. Zeb
While I can't read it as fast as regular words, I can usually translate the letters fairly quickly, as most of the letters in the Matoran Alphabet are very similar to what English letter they represent... A= D= L= T= So if you just understand how they transformed the letters into the circle-line-thing-shapes, then it's not that hard to figure out. 1 Quote The artist formerly known as ŜﮞρЄЯ־GЄNіﮞŜ־CЯЄ▲Ŧ۞Я BBC#69 Entry: Roodaka - Master of Manipulation BFTGM entries: Zigben · Ventox · Deflecto “Hail Denmark.”

Nidhiki of the Shadows
Haha, funny that this topic pops up now. I was playing through MNOG II (hoping to beat it finally) and realized that I cannot read anything. Sure I can recognize a fair few symbols (thankfully, they are very similar to English alphabet in many ways) but it was definitely not "fluent". Still, I was super impressed at the Matoran language. The story team really put their all into making this feel exotic. The numbering system is particularly very nice, very reminiscent of numbering systems in other (especially Asian) languages. -NotS

Vspinax
I can both read and write it, quite fun actually. sometimes when I'm bored during class, I usually write something in the matoran alphabet that no one else except me can read. and for everybody who don't know it: It's very easy to learn, and it isn't time consuming at all. Didn't take me more than 20 minutes or so. Definitly worth it! :m_o: ! 1 Quote - Check out my photostream at Flickr!

Like others there are a few that I find more difficult than others but you don't have to know every letter to break a code! I played through MNOLG 1.5 a few days ago and read the walls of Nuju's hut ("what do you get if...") and the great little sign by the Po-Wahi souvenir stand ("my friend went to Po Wahi and all I got was this lousy rock!") so it does come in handy from time to time Quote Check out my Bionicle store on Bricklink here!> > > Bionic Bricks < < < Let me know if you can help me find these last few collectibles! Also looking for WILD KRAATA and a VMKK Yo!!!
