Nescent
Each one of the Toa has two "modes," which do you prefer? Here are their different configurations: RM=Regular Mode, AM=Adrenaline ModeOnua: RM is hammer, AM is shovels.Lewa: RM is axes, AM is flight/swords.Pohatu: RM is boomerangs, AM is flight/boomerangs on feet.Tahu: RM is swords, AM is lava board/small swords.Kopaka: RM is spear/shield, AM is skis/ski pole.Gali: RM is axe, AM is flippers/mermaid. Which do you think looks better, or have the most fun posing, or just prefer in general?
Toa Smoke Monster
Though I haven't built the adrenaline modes for the Gen 2 Toa, I still prefer their regular forms over them. They just look better to me overall than the adrenaline forms. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Hasreadit
I never made a conscious choice between the two modes, but all of the new Toa besides Pohatu are in adrenalin form on my display. When they're not, they switch between the two.
Voltex
I prefer the regular modes, although I don't really care whether Gali and Onua are in adrenaline mode or not; I've just left them in their normal modes because that's what I built them in. fishers64
"Regular mode" is actually called "Battle Mode", but whatevers. Tahu: Battle mode, because the surfing pose is prone to falling over. Plus MoL end scene nostalgia.Kopaka: Adrenaline mode, because posing that shield is awkward. Onua: Battle mode, because warhammers are cool. Gali: Battle mode, because the battle trident poses are awesome. Lewa: Battle mode, because the axes actually look better for flying.Pohatu: Adrenaline mode - WINDFLY SAND TWISTER! WHEEEEE! So yeah. I'm a regular mode kinda person - get them all together for the BIG CLIMATIC BATTLE, and they will all look spiffing. Toa of Gallifrey
In all cases, RM is my favorite. I think Kopaka and Tahu have the best AMs and they're awesome, though. Edited January 13, 2015 by Toa of Gallifrey

Lyichir
You could probably make this a poll, with three options for each Toa (Prefer Battle Mode, Prefer Adrenalin Mode, and neutral/undecided).As for my answers... tricky. Having just built Onua I have to say I prefer him in Adrenalin Mode, and from pics of Pohatu I'd say I prefer Battle Mode (Regular Mode, as you called it). But the others are extremely close, and it's hard to judge one mode against the other since I think the fact that they can switch between both is one of the coolest things about the sets! Bfahome
I prefer Pohatu in Battle Mode because I think his Adrenalin Mode is sort of awkward. For Tahu and Gali I like both equally, because each one gives them a new set of poses to do. In Battle Mode with her giant "trident" Gali looks pretty solid, but then switching to Adrenalin Mode with the fins and thin harpoon makes her seem agile and swift. Same with Tahu. Nescent
Onua: I prefer his adrenaline mode, because it's more fun to pose. His hammer is equally awesome, just harder to pose because of his stubby arms.Lewa: Adrenaline mode, no question. The axes look cool, but his swords are much more fun to pose, and the propellers help to fill out his arms.Pohatu: Battle mode, because it is a little difficult to make him stand with the boomerangs on his feet. They're close to a tie though.Tahu: Don't own him, but they both look very cool.Kopaka: Adrenaline mode. The skis take up a lot of space, but his shield is irritating to pose, and mostly just gets in the way. The skis are awesome and a lot of fun to pose.Gali: Adrenaline mode. The axe is too big in my opinion, and she looks awesome with the flippers together. "Regular mode" is actually called "Battle Mode", but whatevers. I wish I knew that when I made the topic, although I don't think "BM" would make a good acronym.
The 1st Shadow
It varies from Toa to Toa. I only own Pohatu so far, and I usually keep his boomerangs on his feet in the "sandshoes" mode. Otherwise, he's holding them. The flight mode looks ridiculous. Click
Generally adrenaline mode actually, as it fits better with their G1 counterparts, but I can't stand Pohatu's boomerang feet (so I did this ) or Kopaka's ridiculously large skis. Tahu also kind of swaps from time to time on my shelf. ...funny enough, exactly the opposite of Fishers. Aanchir
For me, most of them are about equal. The main exceptions are Tahu and Kopaka, because I feel like the lava surfboard and avalanche skis in adrenalin mode are a bit more limiting than the fire swords and frost shield when it comes to poses and role play. Hard to say how I feel about Pohatu since I don't have him yet, but I have a hunch his battle mode comes out ahead in my book because his adrenalin mode weapon (a simple dagger) is a bit meager. Rider Of Spiders
Tahu: RM, the board is cool though.Gali: AM, the full trident seems too heavy. Will probably mod a handle to it.Pohatu: RM, the boomerangs look odd with the feet.Onua: AM, I like nostalgia. The hammer is nice as well, but preferences.Kopaka: RM. I think one review constantly joked about Kopaka being an Olympic skier.Lewa: AM. The axeblades look nice as some sort of elbow-weapons. 50/50 ratio. Huh. Latrodectus
I pose the ones I have in both modes. Lewa especially seems to look good in both. One thing's for certain, the alternate modes are a massive improvement on the Nuvas'. Tahu, Kopaka, and Gali were fine, but Lewa's alternate mode was just comical. aldero
I think the Adrenaline Modes for each Toa aren't very good. Nidhiki of the Shadows
While I love adrenaline mode like I loved the original Toa Nuva's secondary modes, I always saw them as something for play to represent mobility. The Battle Modes look so much cooler for posing - I love Tahu's large swords, Pohatu's Stormerangs, Gali's big-A trident, Kopaka's shield and spear combo and Lewa's hatchets. Only one I like both versions of is Onua - his hammer is cool but the claws are so nostalgic. -NotS Edited January 14, 2015 by Nidhiki of the Shadows

Munty
I think they all look better in their regular/battle mode. Onua may be the only exception as I REALLY don't like his ridiculous anime hammer with the tiny little toothpick handle. Were it a proper 2-handed weapon then maybe but as it is I think his shovel hands would probably get my vote (though I've yet to build it in this form. I currently have Kopaka built in his 'Mask of Creation' combiner form which is my favourite for him currently, otherwise he would be in regular battle mode... Maybe in the future we will get a Rahkshi-style gearbox that swings both arms simultaneously. If we got a two-handed hammer with that gearbox, it would be able to swing it and smash stuff! That would be the proper way to incorporate a hammer, I think.
Munty
True, they could have implemented that this time around though. Simply have the gearbox only work on one arm but then have him holding the hammer in both hands. That way both arms would raise/fall each time you turned the gear... Akavakaku
Pre-owning the sets thoughts: Tahu: Adrenaline. Four swords is just overkill. Kopaka: Battle. No shield, no deal. Onua: Adrenaline. A hammer doesn't seem very Onua. (Neither did roller skates, but...)Gali: Adrenaline. The super axe is okay, but a little over the top. Lewa: Battle. The wings don't look very appealing compared to the axes. Pohatu: Battle. I have no love for that tiny knife. Tahu: I love his giant swords that are formed from his surfboard. It's classic because it reminds me of Lhikan. Gali: I love her giant axe. Looks awesome. Lewa: I love his battle axes. Bryce304
Right now I have Tahu and Onua in AM, with the weapons/pieces from POF and POE. I made Tahu's combiner mode, but I felt it didn't add enough to the set to justify cannibalizing my POF. I'm really excited for the combiner mode instructions for Onua, because I think his tail looks pretty awesome. Pohatu is in AM, without the POS weapons/pieces, because I don't have the POS yet. Either way, I love all the possibilities (modes) they've given us. Edited January 20, 2015 by Bryce304 Quote Is it 2015 yet?
