My Twitter feed is being flooded by Bionicle memes.
The Bionicle community facebook page is cooling down but it's still pumping out memes to.

These qualify as memes?
They're just images with captions slapped on.
That's the definition of a dank meme. A low quality, low effort pairing of text and image, typically in parody of those who misuse the form.
So there's a difference between memes and dank memes? Fascinating.

Technically there are four main meme forms.

Inside joke
Classic formats
Dank
Miscellaneous

Inside joke is basically a meme you make for a inside joke you and your friends have that others don't get.

Classic format is the variation of a classic meme.
Such as the "one does not simply walk in to Mordor" and the sassy Jack Sparrow.

Dank memes are memes with no thought or energy put into them and they often other comedy gold or disappointing facepalm.

Everything else is labeled Miscellaneous such as this.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the memes. Part of it is because the Facebook group I'm part of really got into them, so half of my news feed is composed of nothing but memes, which gets annoying. But the thing is, I wouldn't mind that if it wasn't for the fact that Bionicle is dead and the future of Constraction figures in general is looking kind of bleak. It's just bad timing to now turn Bionicle into a meme.

Bionicle can never truly die until the fanbase dies. Even if Lego never decides to bring it back, it'll remain something that is talked about and cherished by its community for a good while.

I think the Bionicle community is kinda going through a cataclysm in general. Aw well, for now we can just enjoy the times on Mata-Nui and await the day the toa come back, washed ashore on a golden beach.

All this meemage is excellent. I've had some ideas for memes myself but between school and being too lazy to put them together I'll be content just to watch the show. Feed me with the glorious dank.
