IC: Olari was still trying to spot Lekuna underneath her when the attack from behind came. It was truly a masterstroke from the Le-Toa, in timing, misdirection and speed. It only had one flaw: her back was where she'd placed her quiver. And it wasn't exactly a small target, much larger than one that might hold arrows since Olari's particular arsenal was itself much larger than arrows. Its layers of leather, wicker, and indeed the poles within stalled and slowed Lekuna's blade, so only the tip actually pierced Olari herself. Feeling the sudden pain and blood trickling down her spine Olari whirled round. With only luck the blade, rooted as it was in her equipment, would be wrenched out its user's hand. She swung the pole she was still holding round in a broad horizontal arc, her momentum adding to the power her arm could deal out, while the trio of rods she had floating around started orbiting her at considerable speed. If the Le-Toa tried simply falling back as he had before then he'd run into their path and be swatted right out of the sky

OOC: Olari fighting Lekuna

IC: Jorth shrugged, "I assume since we're still here there must be some people left. So do we go up or down the hill?"

IC: Lekona - Mount Ihu

Well. That didn't go quite as planned. As Olari spun around to face the Le-Toa, Lekona acted quickly, channeling his elemental power through his sword, blasting the enemy Toa's back, and the wound the sword had made. Lekona's intent was to free his sword, and make some decent distance between the two. He didn't enjoy being close to all those rods. If the blast damaged or distracted his opponent, that was just a bonus.

IC - Artorre (Mt. Ihu):

Artorre stood at the top of the highest snowbank within his sight. Lekona and Olari were still far out of his reach, and he doubted any waves of fire he could fling would make them to his target-- let alone with the accuracy needed to threaten only his target. Gazing around him, he saw nothing of use. No more projectiles, no way to get higher up, no way to attack the enemy, whatsoever. Kicking a clump of icy snow down the slope, he let his hands hand at his sides, his sword lowered to the ground.

"This just sucks."

He looked back to the thriving, and fully-accessible, battle with the tarakava.

"I really don't think Lekona would mind if I just..."

Without finishing his sentence, he once more began sprinting towards the fight; more specifically, the newcomer that was attacking the other combatants. Zakaro.

IC: Zakaro (Mt. Ihu, Tarakava Battle)

Zakaro was, for his part, debating whether to continue attacking the Tarakava even as a majority of the other fighters around fell into the snowdrifts around. His choice was made for him, however, as he caught sight of a Ta-Toa charging down a hill, snow flying every which way in his wake. Zakaro grinned at this new opponent and charged forward himself, letting his very steps shake the ground once more.

With one hand, he retrieved his sword, and the purple-masked Onu-Toa called out a greeting of sorts even as he continued forward.

""Ello there! Not exactly your preferred climate, now is it?"

Zakaro

IC (Ismekne): "Ello there? It's not exactly your preferred climate, now is it?" Ismekne looked around and saw a dark shape beyond the Tarakava. It was heading towards another dark shape.

Well, he's not coming for me. Good. The earth shock had stopped. Ismekne started moving behind the Tarakava's last known location. It had moved forward a bit, and it took a few minutes to cover the distance in the snow. She felt herself starting to pant. All this moving was starting to wear her out. She lifted her warhammer with two hands toward the beast's back, and swung out, hoping to hit metal.

IC - Artorre (Mt. Ihu):

"It was a nice change of pace from my innards burning... for the first few seconds," Artorre called back.

"Right now, though, I'm really cold!" With this gripe as his warcry, he swung his sword through the air. Flames sped ahead of him, towards his opponent.

IC: Zakaro (Mt. Ihu, Fighting Artorre)

"True enough," Zakaro replied, rolling off to a side and coming up on his knees. From that lower position he smacked the ground, sending a shockwave towards Artorre, before climbing to his feet and moving forward again. There was about 10 feet of snow separating the two Toa now, though that was rapidly decreasing.

"Mt. Ihu's not known for its beaches, after all."

IC: Green

She never saw it coming.

She had locked herself in her room, stewing over the assaults to her pride, when suddenly, she was taken.

You see, all that mind blasting from the Queen, combined with the stratospheric stress levels Green had been suffering due to her narcissism had finally made its effects shown.

Maybe it was a stroke, maybe an aneurysm, maybe her brain just gave out on her. But whatever it was, when the medical team would get to her room, they would find a lifeless Rahkshi and Kraata, half on the bed, half on the floor.

Fin.

IC: The brunt of Lekona's attack was channelled into the quiver, momentarily turning it and the poles inside into the most elaborate set of wind-chimes ever. But it worked how he wanted, and he managed to keep his sword while pushing himself and Olari away from each other.

But therein lay the problem.

Olari had judged the Toa's tactics to be based on hit and run efforts. Most of his responses to her attacks had been to fall back, to withdraw, the teleport away. And that was why she'd had the three poles spinning round her. Well, round the pair of them really, they had been right next to each other. If he tried retreating from her attack he was just going to run into them. And retreating was exactly what he'd done. They were spinning within the flow of Olari's magnetic field after all, by pushing her away Lekona had only drawn them closer.

And since Lekona had himself been sent into a spin, the momentum of Olari's turn being shakily passed on to him since he stubbornly refused to let go of his sword, he shouldn't have time to regain his bearing before the closest of those revolving poles, moving with the unstoppable speed of a Kane-Ra at full charge, slammed right into side with bone-shattering force. Olari didn't grin as she watched it about to happen, not even inwardly. This wasn't personal after all

OOC: Olari fighting (the now correctly spelt :P) Lekona

IC: "Well I suppose if people are going to throw rocks at us, I would prefer they be smaller rocks and be less of them to throw," Jorth admitted, "Up it is."

IC: Lekona - Mount Ihu

The Toa of Air realized a bit too late what was happening. He began to turn around, and began using his elemental powers to slow himself, but it didn't didn't prevent him from slamming into one of the metal poles.

Well, this isn't going well.

Lekona's eyes quickly darted away from Olari and once they had reached where he wanted - the border of where his sight range would take him - Lekona activated his Kualsi. Once teleported, the Toa propelled himself quickly into the cover of the snowstorm. For the time being, he needed to escape, at least until he could find a way through that defense his enemy had set up. Though, it was doubtful his opponent would give him much of a break, so Lekona kept moving through his cover, hoping to keep his adversary off him for at least a little while.

OOC: An argument could be made against Zakaro's ability to create shockwaves and earthquakes in what is probably at least 10 feet of snow, but I digress. A battle with a powerless opponent would be boring, anyway. =P

IC - Artorre (Mt. Ihu):

Artorre didn't bother wasting energy on his mask. At the same time as Zakaro's hand slammed into the ground, Artorre's feet left it. He dived into a roll, from which he exited a safe distance away from Zakaro, but close enough to engage him immediately after. Taking a few steps, he allowed his momentum to carry him towards the Toa of Earth, whom he swung at horizontally.

OOC: For reference, Artorre is roughly equivalent to a mid-rolling Elite Knight. =P

IC: Omega

"Just a reminder though, next time, you're scrap." He growled. He began to make his way out, quickly flipping Xara off before turning back round again.  He then nearly smashed into Kat, but saved himself last minute. "Hi." He said, awkwardly.

IC Kat/looking for the gym:

"Hey, you. Making friends, I see." I joked.

"So, what happened with you out there?"

IC: Dayeth - Arena.

"Well.... considering that our last two opponents showed up when we started going down, perhaps we should go up this time?" Dayeth suggested. "Beside, most people will have headed upwards in order to get the high ground advantage."

IC Kotak/Arena:

He lowered his weapons, nodding to the newcomer, and then turning to Dayeth, speaking in one of his rare moments.

"Agreed. We head up."

OOC: Things all depend, but in this case I'm thinking the snow wouldn't be as deep as, say, it was during Zakaro v. Daltrahk, because this is higher and and as such more exposed to the wind, but I digress. :P

IC: Zakaro (Mt. Ihu, Fighting Artorre)

The Earth Toa brings up his own broadsword to deflect Artorre's blade, likely sending it over the Onu-Toa's head if Artorre didn't bother to bring it back as soon as the steel clashed. Grinning at his opponent, Zakaro aims a one-handed stab at Artorre's left side and then drops down, trying to sweep the Fire Toa's feet out from under him.

IC: Onuvo (Fighting Albrcht and Silvanni)

As his first attack missed, Onuvo continued to keep up the pressure on his opponent. Surely his concentration will break at some point, and he no longer had his weapon. If Onuvo could just outlast him...

It was then, while Onuvo threw punch after punch, that things turned for the worst. He was going to learn an ever important lesson that he always allocated to his team before. Knowledge is half the battle. For if he had known who he was fighting, maybe he would have known better than to turn his back on the massive warhammer. Unfortunately, that knowledge could not help him now.

Onuvo felt like he was beginning to wear down the cloaked figure when suddenly everything went black with a loud squelch. The sharpened end of the warhammer had embedded itself into the back of his head, ending his time in the arena instantly.

OOC: Onuvo eliminated by Albrcht, with some assistance from Silvanni.

IC: Gah, that injury on her back really smarted...the cold made it sting and bite, and the blood was freezing into a macabre glaze. She kept the poles whirling around her to make it hard for him to try getting behind her again, couldn't let him deal her death by a thousand cuts.

It also meant she had some time to start scanning through the storm with her Akaku. It was by no means a perfect solution, the varying nature of the storm tougher to keep an even line of sight through than a stable solid object, but it was better than nothing...

There! A shape that was Toa-sized! She lost sight of it as the snowfall dropped a little and her gaze went right through it, so she couldn't be completely sure it was the Le-Toa. But what else could it realistically be when there was only the two of them up here?

Two more poles slid out her quiver, floating up and over her swirling defence before taking up position aimed at Lekona. And they became to rotate like a pair of propellors, getting steadily faster and faster.

Olari reasoned that the only way the Toa could still be in the air was by manipulating the air currents. Which meant he was going to be directly at odds with the storm, having to fight it every step of the way to make sure it didn't either disrupt his flight-stream or simply knock him out the sky entirely. Battling the weather and the cold like that, he'd be using far more energy to remain airborne than she was. Hence the propellors, directing more of the storm towards the Le-Toa, creating more wind to buffet him and force him to focus his energies on.

Brute force had failed to smash him down. Time to see if tiring him out could ground him...

OOC: Olari vs. Lekona, the epic struggle continues!

IC Ezezko - Medical Ward

You lay in your bed

Re-examining all the wounds in your head

In hue, your bandages were quite red

Undermining all of what you had read

You had a hard time coming to terms with the damage to your head

Huh.

That didn't quite work out, it seems that your mental damage had manifest itself as a certain lack of wit, charm and rhyme. However were you to snark while having a lark, when your metaphorical teeth no longer resupplied like that of a shark?

...

Much better!

IC Tenjou - Mt Ihu Slopes

The strain to project a hardlight shield is enormous, even though the deadly current and white hot plasma is deflected, the kinetic energy of the blast knocks Tenjou to the ground, the shield shattered into a million shards of rainbow energy. Laying in the snow, all she can do is devote her remaining elemental energy to cloaking and tricks of light. If she can just get her left arm to cooperate, she could fire an arrow at the third Rahkshi...

IC - Artorre (Mt. Ihu):

Artorre deftly turned his body so that Zakaro stabbed at empty air, this time with the assistance of his mask. He then leaped backwards, mostly with the intention of avoiding a swing from Zakaro's out-thrust sword, but with the added benefit of carrying the Toa of Fire over his sweep. In the air, he brought his sword back down, sending a wave of flame at his opponent.

"Merely pragmatic," Aclaraung replied to A.D. "There's a dangerous fire demon, apparently, isn't that what was said? I'd rather we have enough forces present to combat it so that we don't lose anybody to its predations, and I'd also like to have as many people as necessary to aid our little lightning Matoran as much as possible in her quest. I'm not in it to gain something myself, although I would at least like to maintain my continued existence."

IC (Albrecht von Armbrüster)

I've done what I set out to do: my foe

lies dead upon the ground; his blood and brains

have painted lovely patterns in the snow.

Before I leave, I take a knee and yank

my weapon from his skull, and speak to him

a brief but necessary fun'ral rite:

"My foe, you fought both gallantly and well.

And though your death's impermanent (you'll wake

both safe and sound, all wounds bound tight, all needs

address'd), I'll send your spirit on its way:

May Mata Nui bring you safely home."

My speech all done, I stand and search the waste

for any sign of life. A moment's pause,

and then I see: a figure (maybe two)

is wandr'ing through the blinding snow. I smile.

IC: Dayeth - Arena.

But the Dark Toa was no pushover. She'd fought Vahki before; they made useful disposable sparring partners, so she knew how much they weighed, and had braced herself for the inevitable impact, and pushed the machine's staffs away from her.

Just from touching her flaming axe, the Vahki's weapons were likely beginning to ice over, but Dayeth intended to make an ice sculpture out of all of him. She sent Black Flames rippling from her axe in a wave, aiming to shroud the machine in the unnatural fire.
