(Text for the SS portion of the Library Summer Olympics 2010.)
Current Event - Short Stories 700wd Fest Pursuit
How it Works
Due to popular demand and overall levels of awesome, the first event will be like our Epics and Short Stories EpicFest. In the UK, there is an event called World Book Day, in which people celebrate the books they love and enjoy. Authors and authoresses of published novels can write a short story related to their book or book series, and sell them for about 1 pound. It opens up new ideas, possibilities, and challenges for these writers to expand upon their novels in a shorter format. It's also pretty fun!
In this first event, contestants are required to write a short story based on either:
1) An epic (or epics) they've already posted, or
2) An epic (or epics) posted by another member.
The short story(s) must contain elements of the original epic(s), like characters, situations, and/or places.

A: Yes, that's fine.
Q: I can really write a short story based on the epic of somebody else? Like, GaliGee?

Q: Do I have to enter all three events?
A: No, you can enter just one, two, or all three. It will have no effect on your standings.
Q: Why haven't you announced prizes for anything?
A: Toa_Velox is working on the prizes, do not pressure him about this.
