Speaking, once more, to all of his teammates: "Anyone who does not submit to coordination with the rest of the team will surely parish, having done nothing of worth. This is a team battle, which means that you are all needed. Anyone who does not participate as a team, but as an individual, is effectively forfeiting the match. For that reason, you all must assemble here and allow me, or another telepath, to coordinate you, or else face certain loss as a result of your stubborn refusal to work together." His voice boomed in the ears of Team Muaka, no matter how far from him its members were.

After the round began, Ignis Got himself ready into a battle stance, took his Halberd off his back, and extended it to it's full length. Eyeing the enemy team, he ran forward and bellowed out loud so all could hear.

"WHO WANTS SOME!?"

IC: Zel'Sai (Tarakava)

Well, it looked like not much was happening yet. Zel'Sai's strategy was to stay low near the edge of the bubble, waiting for a chance to strike an unsuspecting foe. This time, she wouldn't be assisted by anyone, so she would have to use the surroundings, meaning the underwater city, to her advantage as much as possible. She wondered, as she entered a dark building by the bubble's edge, if there was a way to get some of the water from the outside of the bubble to the inside.  That would facilitate things.

 

IC: Naberius (Tarakava)

Plans were being made all around. There wasn't much point in joining one of them officially. Naberius would simply follow a group from the back until he noticed the Makuta he'd been speaking with earlier. He didn't see an Av-Matoran anywhere... but he did notice a large white and gold being wearing a Kraahkan. Well... that was certainly different. In fact, it was likely that the light Makuta was the very one from before. He decided it would be best to simply stand where he could be seen until the fighting really started.

And it had better be soon, or else their foes would get the drop on them.

Hound reacted to the multitude of events with great speed and confidence, revealing a probable history of leadership. A nod to Maccha to show he noticed, and then Hound launched back into dialogue with Kale, ignoring any pointless (~) comments from other teammates that he didn't have time to respond to. "We need to separate into groups based on combat ability; builders for defense creation, warriors for offense and assault-leading, and scouts for intelligence. Agreed?" He posed the question to both Kale and the surrounding crowd. "I am Hound. Fast, strong, senses. Warrior or land-bound scout, whatever we need." He posed the greeting to no one in particular, presenting the information for everyone's benefit.

"You're faster than I am; I'll be needing a head start; heading straight that way, searching for enemies. I'll report back the moment I see them, but I won't be very far ahead of their first strikers." Selaphiel whispered rapidly to Olari as she pointed towards the tallest buildings, most likely the city's center. She would wait a moment for a response and then disappear, heading full speed into the sky over the specified area.

IC: Cast - Team Muaka

 

Cast went from being curled up on his bed to being curled up on the dank floor of Mahri Nui. He got up and was beginning to gather himself when he heard Okavaung's mental message and began to feel a small headache. Worried that it might become stronger, he started moving. Unfortunately, it appeared a few of his team members were a little more distracted. 

 

For one, there was an energy hound that appeared to be chasing the muaka badge on his back. Cast attempted to catch his attention, hoping that the energy hound would prefer to follow the real thing.

Then a sharp mental pain comes.

 

"... I suppose we should go there, then. I'll meet you there," I gasp, still reeling from the attack. Without waiting for Tanzah to reply, I shadow-jump to the dragon's location.

 

IC: Vorzin (Team Tarakava)

 

As the other dragon ignores me, I shift my attention to the Toa who seems to have taken command. Raising my voice so as not to be ignored like last time, I say "Aerial scouts, you say? I have an invisibility power. I presume that makes me ideal for the task, then?"

[Not Quite Dead]

IC Tenjou - Team Muaka

Easily ignoring the loud and irritating dragon, the Av-Toa cloaked herself by refracting and redirecting the light around her. At close range, it would be easy enough to see through. But not when she was silhouetted against the backdrop of the churning oceans above. She took flight, following Viitka on a course to deal with the crimson flier and would-be-bubble-popper.

 

She notched an arrow, waiting to see if Viitka was going to make the first move.

"Fly well. I'll keep you covered."

 

Olari kept an eye on Selaphiel, waiting until it was appropriate for her to follow, but spoke to Velix. "You say you are fast. You could be a courier. If Sel and I tell you what we see, you could run back here to pass the news along to our luminescent friend there." She pointed at Kale, "And if we run into trouble you can send the big one." Now she looked to the Hound. "You say you are fast and strong, sir, both qualities I feel will be needed soon enough."

 

 

IC: (Jorth, Team Muaka)

 

A nagging headache. Pesky. But he could tune it out. What made the...lizard...thing so special that they wanted everyone to listen to them anyway? They didn't seem to have done any preparation or present any suitable qualities. So Jorth was going to stick with Donrioda and her little group. To Karz with the jumped-up Zyglak

Velix nodded, then realized Olari most likely could not see his nod from the building. He jumped off, using his power to slow his decent and landing smoothly on the ground. "So I would follow you and go back if needed?

Ic: Tanzah

The mental attack hurt Tanzah's head greatly, giving him a slight headache. He wasn't exactly happy about being subject to an attack from a Rahi, but seeing how Miras had already gone over there, Tanzah begrudgingly walked over to the dragon.

The world shifted around the Onu-Toa, and as he landed he grinned and then laughed, excited at the prospect of a battle and eager to get to it. 

 

However, noticing a group developing to make a plan, the Onu-Toa headed over, nodding towards Olari as he spoke.

 

"I'll say right off that we do not, unless under the most dire of circumstances and even then I'd hesitate, want to break that bubble. Anyone who actually did it would likely be KO'd instantly, and the proceeding rush of water can easily wipe out half of the fighters in one go. Trust me, I've seen it, and having that much water pouring down is practically a death sentence unless you get lucky."

I quietly observe the Toa talking. The woman said that we should attack now, and her little flying pet creature had provided us with a little of useful information. The enemy team was apparently unorganized, which meat that we should attack´now before they form proper groups. "Shall we go, then?" I ask the female Toa, eager to get into a fight.

She had approached the large being who seemed to have the qualities of a confident leader.  When he presented his idea of forming specialized groups she noded as a sign of approval. "I can either be a builder or a warrior, for I can accomplish both tasks" she said, and awaited for others nearby to reveal their own opinions and plans.

Donrioda shook her head, doing her best to dispel the illusions and headache the...whatever-it-was decided to put on her. "Yeah, we should. We need to get as many people together as possible, though. The...whatever it was has a point, even if it made that point horribly." She glanced around. "Besides, a giant lizard? That's a good thing to have if you want to squish enemies."

Hound nodded in agreement with Olari's suggestion, before speaking quickly with Maccha and then turning to the others. "Maccha, I would be most happy to have your company in defending this area and responding to intelligence. Anyone else with mostly destructive powers? I'd like to have a group of three protecting our defenders right now and ready to deal with any threats our scouts report." He posed the question while glancing at the faces of teammates, searching for those he'd seen in combat. When Feli spoke to him, Hound responded with genuinely amiable surprise. "A builder! Wonderful; I expect we're all capable as warriors, so your help in creation of defenses would be most appreciated," Hound, his restrained, polite smile unwavering, gestured to Kale. "He is responsible for the defense idea. I would suggest working with him."

 

OOC: Anyone open to join Hound to make a responsive combat squad.

Selaphiel evanesced into nonentity, rising above her fellow teammates before surging towards her ideal destination at full speed.

IC: "What ho! Defenders, you say?" Lord Halken said, approaching Hound with a grin. "Sir, I would be delighted to lend my assistance to your squadron! Though I lack offensive powers like many have, I excell in reducing threats to nothing!" He grinned widely and bowed.

She froze. She recognised this being. He - or a version of him - had been in her world, centuries ago. She'd watched him die during the battle of Obsidian Outpost. It had taken a trio of magnetism Rahkshi to finally bring him down.

 

Now it seemed that fate had delivered him right into her hands once more. 

[The Drink]

IC: "My Element's Fighting Spirit, which I think's the most important thing." Damaka replied once a window of silence opened. "Basically, I can make you feel like you can take on the world and come out on top. Also, this giant sword on my back's pretty resistant to most types of elemental or magical attacks and defenses. Should I go with Maccha Yellow!, or do you want to stick me somewhere else?"

What, I don't get a mention?

Hound was surprised by the sudden appearance of the massive Skakdi, who had weaved through the crowd with surprising ease. Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to limit his fellow offense-focused combatants (who were popping up pretty regularly) to a single role. "I would be honoured to fight with you," Hound responded to Dudley Halken's grin with a widening of his polite smile. Turning to the numerous other fighters, he fixed his previous mistake of hasty caterogization. "If everyone who believe themselves ideal warriors could list their name and powers, I would be able to select fighters to accompany me based on their abilities, in direct response to the threat description. Potential builders should introduce themselves to," Hound paused as he gestured towards Kale, unsure of his name. "This fellow, and any potential scouts we've missed to," once again, an awkward silence as he gestured to Olari. "This fellow. For those just now paying attention, I am Hound." He considered adding Fast, Strong, Senses, but decided that others could fill newcomers in. This rapid organisation was taking time, but Hound's concern was lessened by the existence of multiple scouts who were able to spot approaching beings his senses failed to notice.

 

Hound's thoughts were disrupted by Damaka, who addressed him now that he finally had a chance. "I suggest we all stay here and cover our builders as they set up defenses. The moment our scouts, or one of us, notices opponents inbound, we'll be ready to attack in concentrated groups. You, Halken, and Maccha," Here Hound raised his voice so that the other subjects of his speech would hear, "should stay close to me; our powers will work best in tandem."

 

OOC: Couldn't find any evidence of Hound getting Olari or Kale's names, but I could be wrong. Edits probably pending.

IC: Virse - Arena (Team Muaka)

 

Virse stalked up to the dragon who had refused, still managing to look confident though he was quite a bit taller than her. "That could work," she croaked. "Who would you propose for such a mission? If you know of some... beings, I could lead them behind while Donroida leads the distraction."

 

A good strategist was adaptable. A good leader did not ignore a better solution, even if was proposed by a grumbling lower. But they would still need order if they wanted to succeed.

 

IC(A.D. - Team Muaka): "I'm not sure." said the dragon. "I was thinking one of us could fly over as a distraction and lead them toward a group of fighters, while a bunch more got behind the others and took them out, but if they are all scattered..."

 

He shook his head. "Pirates have ships, so they are all together. Sorry for talking - this area is too big for that to work."

 

IC(Ismekne - Team Tarakava): Ismekne was slightly confused. She heard a small crack in the distance in front of her, and someone yelling behind her. Instinctively, she hit the ground, expecting a projectile, but none came. She quickly looked herself over. Nothing was quite wrong. 

 

Shrugging, the fighter moved off towards the source of the cracking noise. That certainly sounded like a fight. 

 

OOC: To be clear, the cracking noise is the one Virse made earlier with the glass, and the yelling is Hound's yelling. Ismekne en route to Virse, Okvarung, and A.D.'s location.

IC Langmuir - Team Muaka

How the karz had I not noticed their sashes? They gleamed with a pale turquoise light, exactly as the Host had explained at the start of the round. In my regrettable haste, I had run straight into a pair of enemies. Both of them had masks I did not recognize, I could only hope the same was true for mine. The greyish Toa's element could be any number of them. The crimson and black Toa...

 

Then the greyish Toa split into two. Definitely not something I had expected...

 

...I scanned a list in my head. The only beings I had ever met with a body in shades of red were fire elemental. The black overlaying armor confused the issue, perhaps an earth or shadow affinity? It did not matter much either way. I had little in the ways of defenses against the later, and only dodging or blocking in the case of the former. To facilitate blocking, one of the swords behind me transmogrified itself from simple longsword to broad bladed greatsword, switching position to my anterior side to act as a shield of sorts.

 

The other two were quickly aimed and fired, their structures weakened enough to act as fragmentation projectiles upon contact with a solid object. One targeted the orange-eyed toa, the other at the crimson toa.

Ignis arrived alongside a fellow Team member, facing off against some of the enemy. Knowing that teaming up with others could give him an edge in battle, He decided to join the fight. "Need a hand? I don't normally team up with people, but Today's been pretty hectic already, so I'd expect anything by now."

IC: Virse - Arena (Team Muaka)

 

She wasn't sure whether to thank the being or shout at it for its attack, but fortunately a Toa of Air beat her to it. Assaulting allies, even with good intentions, was only bringing further chaos.

 

"That was... unnecessary," she rasped up to it. "Please, I know what I am doing."

 

She turned back to the dragon. "The plan is risky. A flying target is just as likely to be shot as seen. It may be better to use the cover these structures provide to our advantage. We can create a distraction group to confuse and draw out the enemy while the stealth group follows behind, though that also runs the risk of the enemy separating and ambushing our ambush."

 

She looked around for any familiar masks or elements that could be used for stealth. Her own mask could be useful for that tactic.

She dived to the side and rolled smoothly to her feet, flinging a blast of Dark Fire at the Fe-Toa's newly-arrived ally (Ignis).

Kale Ironshaper- Team Tarakava

 

IC: Lots of people were talking now. That was good, it meant that people were actually starting to work together. However, it was only due to Kale's decades of experience leading a wide variety of beings that prevented him from being overwhelmed.

 

Turning to Vorzin the pale Toa replied.

 

"Yes, assuming you can also fly. Please speak to Olari over there for a better idea of what you team is going to be doing."

 

Next was Feli Gemshimmer.

 

"Right now we need to get our barricades built as quickly as possible. If you could start with the barricades, that would be helpful."

 

As Hound introduced himself again Kale was silent. He had managed to make it through the entire first round without using his control over metal. It was likely that nobody knew he possessed the power. If he gave a full and proper introduction now that would change. It would be one less advantage he would have in what might end up a fight to the death. On the other hand Kale had never been the type to lie to gain an advantage in combat. Maybe conceal the truth a bit, but not outright lie.

 

Mentally squaring his shoulders the Av-Toa spoke up.

 

"My name is Kale Ironshaper. My element is Light but I am also able to control metal. My mask, as you can see, is a Kakama. If everybody capable of controlling a solid element could come with me, the other team should be moving soon and I don't want to be caught in the open when they do."

"Excuse me."  Buzzz replied to the plant Toa, he was mildly upset over the insult.  "What is it you don't like about me?"

IC: Halken nodded, pounding one fist into the other and nodding to Maccha Yellow!. "Aye, I suspect it would be best to team up with someone! Or multiple someones, as the case may be!" He laughed, adjusted his monocle, and continued. "If you need to know, I can disable the abilities of any individual who dares to assail us, and knock their weapon out of their hands with but a glance!" Halken shot his attention towards a nearby rock and, with a ZAKK of Impact Vision, it was careening off, far away from any fighter in the arena.

 

IC: Riss scrambled up to Olari and gave a cheery salute, her armor glistening in the light as she set her Mic stand back on the ground. Already, she was bouncing from foot to foot, a song pounding in her head and a beat thumping in her heart as she proclaimed, "Hi! I heard you needed scouts! I can do scouting!" She spun and flashed a Peace sign, immediately continuing into her introduction. "I'm ~*~SUNBURST~*~, De-Toa, musical sensation! And I have a Mohtrek!"

 

"That's right, she does!" A second Riss said, having appeared but a minute ago behind her. "I would know! I'm her!"

 

IC: Zephyr raised one hand towards Buzz, back to him, and extended certain fingers to make a rude gesture towards Buzzz. He then proceeded to ignore the insectoid insult to toa as best he could, despite the growing revulsion in his throat.

After listening for a few more seconds, Zakaro speaks again, shrugging a little. 

 

"Won't say I wouldn't prefer to fight, but I suppose with a Pakari and Earth at my disposal I'm best suited for the building squad," he said, glancing around at the gathering people.

IC: (Jorth, Team Muaka)

 

"I'd ignore him if I were you," Jorth said to Buzzz, "He's a bit of a pillock with an ego large enough that it has other egos orbiting around it."

 

 

IC: (Olari, Team Tarakava)

 

Well, they were primarily looking for powers of flight, or maybe speed to give Velix a hand, but a Mohtrek was nothing to be trifled with. A scout who could be in many places at once was a useful asset. 

 

"We could use your many eyes," she said, looking over Riss, "Get you on rooftops, keeping watch to look out for incoming enemy."

The Toa made a gesture with his hand that Buzzz assumed had meaning but didn't understand.  He shrugged and turned back to the task at hand.  Giggling at the other Toa's joke.
